The New album "hidden cruelty" will now hit the streets.

Release dates are as follows:

Sweden: 2007-03-03
Rest of the world: 2007-04-27

The new album displays a bit of a different direction for Maze of Torment. The Thrash metal elements are more pronounced and prominent. This directional change is mostly due to the fact that we have some new members in the band, but it's also a natural move considering the sound on our last album "Hammers of Mayhem"

We recorded Hidden Cruelty in Berno studios (Malmö, Sweden) during a few weeks in the autumn of 2006. The drums where recorded not using any trigs, but we added some to the to the bass drum and snare during mix down. Rickard used a Ran guitar and recorded on an old Marshall rig, it was the JMP 2203 amplifier from 1978 (how's that for old school ey?). He also used a mid boost EQ prior to the pre amp input to get a distortion boost. Studio musician Magnus Olsson has contributed with a solo on the track Hidden Cruelty. The vocals where put down smoothly, there is definitely a change in style compared to the previous albums and if you like it or not is up to you. Often when things are done different it will take time to get used to, but as far as the vocals on the new album, there really was no other way to go.
